eleven years of marriage, eleven stabs in the chest: is this the result of an unhappy marriage, a sex game gone wrong or the work of a jealous lover?

the story of arthur and lucille livingstone begins in london, england where two psychology students fall in love with each other the moment they meet. their bond develops throughout the years and soon, it is clear that their relationship is meant to last longer than the duration of their studies. even after their graduation, their long distance relationship between the united kingdom and the united states survives - eventually leading to a proposal in paris, france.

soon, lucille leaves england to move in with her american fiance and become his wife. however, the first tensions arise when the couple have issues trying for a baby, resulting in numerous fertility treatments and two miscarriages over the years.

eventually, they stop trying but their bond seems to be strong enough to survive this obstacle. only years after arthur's death, rumors of affairs and lovers appear - however, those rumors could never be proven.

but nothing can prepare their friends and family for what happens next.

5 january, 2010; 2:23 am: the bodies of lucille and arthur livingstone are found on the floor. one dead. one alive. he has been stabbed eleven times, in the chest. dead. she has been stabbed once, in the lower abdomen. unconscious but alive. there is blood everywhere. in the middle of it all: two empty bottles of wine and the murder weapon, a sharp kitchen knife.

drops of blood drop into the snow when her body is brought to the hospital. white turns to red. lucille will claim to have no memory of this night.

trial after trial, a decision is made.

the mysterious teacher

Desdemona Lucille Livingstone was born to Elphaba and Desmond Caldwell, as the younger sister to Elphoras. Like the rest of her family, Des was a gifted young witch but she turned out to be the only one to inherit psychic abilities from her grandmother.

As it was Elphoras' Satan-given right, the boy began to torment his only sibling shortly after she was born. The daily abuse continued for years and years until the Caldwell children were old enough to sign their names away and attend the Academy of Unseen Arts. One night, the Dark Lord himself appeared in the student's dreams, asking her to make her dark devotions to him.

The faithful witch obliged and followed his orders the next evening by asking Elphoras to meet her in the woods once everyone was asleep. That night, two unholy souls entered the forest but only one of them left the next morning.

Elphoras was gone, never to be seen again.

When asked, she claimed that she possessed no memory of those hours in the dark forest. What happened that night would remain a secret between Desdemona, the Dark Lord and the blood stains on her white nightgown.

But the young witch would never be the same after that night.

While Elphoras' body was never to be found, Desdemona soon learned that his spirit had not vanished from her life at all. She was now bound to endure his presence for the rest of her days — at day and at night, awake or asleep . . .

Her worst nightmare had become reality.
